Details of the construction of a new mountain eco-resort in Adygea have become known
It is assumed that thirteen cable cars with a total length of 36 kilometers will serve tourists on the territory of the tourists. In addition, 3,000 rooms will be built. The construction is predicted to be carried out in three stages. This is enough to create an entire resort. The first stage, which is scheduled for the period from 2022 to 2024, will open 20 kilometers of tracks and 650 rooms. The total flow of tourists to the resort is projected at about 500 thousand people with the potential for growth up to 1 million in the event of an air gate. Until the end of 2024, there will be an opportunity to get acquainted with the new attraction even then. Tourists will have access to 36 kilometers of ski slopes and three thousand hotel rooms.
The Lagonaki project has caused environmentalists disapproval. In particular, 120 Russian scientists signed an open letter to the President with a request to prevent the development of the Lagonaki Upland and its transformation into a ski resort. Now nature is suffering so much, activists say. Where there are tourists, the ecology is on the brink of disaster. The Administration of the Republic of Adygea (RA) has issued an article stating that the eco-resort “Lagonaki” will be created outside the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Only time will tell whether this resort will harm the environment in any way.
